Both the OG Pocket and Micro are a powerful cameras--producing some of the best images from any consumer camera made. To get the most from the BMPCC or Micro when using it in a production setting, it is important to rig it out with other accessories–like a battery mount, follow focus, cinema lenses, shoulder mount and a matte box.
 
The XLCS 15mm Rail Mount allows you to fix standard 15mm rails to the XLCS Cage--allowing the use of the aforementioned accessories. More importantly, it elevates the camera to a height that gives clearance to these other parts (example: prevents large barrel lenses hitting the 15mm rails and/or restricting the clearance of a follow focus).
 
This particular mount was designed for not only the XLCS Cage, but the elongated screw holes for mounting will allow it to work with other cages that have a different hole pattern than the XLCS Cage. (However, the installation of the included 1.6mm screw will serve as a key way to get the mount perfectly centered with the barrel of the camera when used with the XLCS Cage.)
 
The top surface of the 15mm Rail Mount has also been cut out so that other XLCS accessories (Hood, Transparent Back, LCD Cover) can be in place and locked with button head screws while fixed to the mount. 
 
The face of the mount has two 4mm threaded holes for the mounting of the universal lens adapter support.
 
The base of the mount has two threaded holes for a secure, non-swiveling mount to a tripod or other mounting base. The holes are 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16--however, an included adapter can be inserted to make both holes 1/4"-20.
