The rear LCD screen on the BMPCC is known for being less than ideal for monitoring--especially when used outside in sunlight. While external monitors are preferred, it's not always an option when filming stripped down (it is a "pocket camera," afterall). 
 
The first of its kind, this LCD Sun Hood clips right onto the XLCS cage and shields your screen from harsh sunlight--making it much easier to see your image. The hood is made from durable ABS+PC plastic, and fits snugly around the cage before clipping into the cutouts of the cage. In this form, it is easily removable.
 
However--if you plan to use the hood extensively and want to be sure it is firmly fixed in place; the included button-top screws will allow you to "lock" the hood in place. 
 
Beyond this--the hood can still be used when the camera is rigged to the optional 15mm Rail Mount--making it useful to keep in place during larger builds and productions. (Cutouts on the 15mm rail mount match the surface of the hood both with and without the button head screw lock in place.)
